How we handle your data. Short version: we collect very little and share none of it.

1. Who We Are
Hushful Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for fedwell.ai. We are registered in England and Wales.

2. What We Collect
FedWell collects the minimum data needed to run the site. We do not track you across the web, sell your data, or build advertising profiles.

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not track individuals. Plausible is EU-hosted and GDPR-compliant by design.

Contributor data is collected under the Contributor Agreement, which each expert signs before participating.
3. Cookies
FedWell uses only essential session cookies for contributor login functionality. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party cookies.
Plausible Analytics does not set any cookies.
4. Where Data Is Stored
- Website hosting: Render (US-based)
- Knowledge base: ChromaDB Cloud
- Dialogue transcripts and profiles: MongoDB Atlas
- Analytics: Plausible (EU-based)
Contributor data may be processed outside the UK/EU in line with the services above. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place (standard contractual clauses or equivalent).
5. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with:
- Infrastructure providers (Render, MongoDB Atlas, ChromaDB) as needed to operate the service
- Google (Gemini API) for AI-assisted Socratic dialogue during contributor sessions
Published Nuggets, contributor names, and transparency declarations are public by design.
6. Data Retention
- Published Nuggets: Retained until withdrawn by the contributor or removed by FedWell
- Dialogue transcripts: Retained as an editorial audit trail for the life of the platform
- Contributor profiles: Retained while the contributor is active, or until they request deletion
- Analytics: Plausible retains anonymous aggregate data only
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (subject to our legal obligations)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Port your data to another service
Contributors can request removal of their Nuggets at any time by contacting info@hushful.ai. We will remove them within 14 days. Copies already distributed under the CC BY-ND 4.0 licence by third parties cannot be recalled.
8. Children
FedWell is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
